Workshop, Origami and Paper Toys Workshops for Children
This was the experience of the origami and paper toys workshop held during July at Juventud Providencia . This was aimed at all types of people, men, women, children, all of different professions and ages.
The workshops were given to 4 groups that had previously registered through Juventud Providencia (free registration, included materials). The work of each group was divided into two 3-hour blocks on Tuesdays and Fridays.
As an order, the following was requested:
– Create a paper set based on the assembly project figures. (paper set: model made of paper in this case)
– The assembled paper toy figures could be worked as a unit or assembled and generated a new volume that was a character or whatever they wanted.
– Finally, a base was generated where the “paper set” would be worked on. We concluded by fixing this base to the wall to include the works in the Assemblage Project exhibition that was already mounted on site.
What was emphasized most to the participants was that they plan the work as a whole to better visualize the steps to follow, because there was little time for the work. The main objective was for people to resolve the issue, managing time and visualizing the objectives to achieve what they had proposed as a result in the stipulated time.
For professionals not dedicated to the fields of creativity, it was an example of the creative work that designers or others do, and for professionals linked to creative careers it was a way to practice and test their skills and talents.
