Birdaz has been a graffiti artist and digital illustrator for 10 years. Of Guatemalan origin. Currently he is dedicated to the art of social manifestation. In Guatemala, Birdaz is identified as the muralist who paints birds.
Graffiti and digital painting
I have drawn since I was a child. I started my life as an artist painting graffiti with the name “Pájaro” at the end of 2010. From that moment on, and simultaneously with painting on the walls, I tried to dedicate myself professionally to illustration.
I am currently learning about digital painting to focus on book illustration; poetry, narration or covers.
About the Nahual Maya, the art of Fermín Argueta for Gentleman Cat
The design is influenced by the Mayan nahual. In the Mayan culture, the nahual, also called nawal or nagual, is a protective spirit that we acquire at birth and that will be in charge of protecting us for the rest of our lives . Normally the nahual is usually a spiritual animal, similar to the totem of the shamanic culture that is represented by the wild cat. Animal with white spiritual details that refer to the mountain and the aura. It has a double face because it is represented as an animal and, at the same time, as a spirit that reflects the strength and sounds of nature.
