Constant training is one of the pillars of professional success. It is for this reason that through practical, brief but productive workshops , universities reinforce resources so that students can update their knowledge.
Within this context, a workshop of two four-hour sessions was developed at the Week 9 event of the design faculty of the Universidad del Desarrollo in Concepción .
During the session, attendees worked on an assignment that consisted of creating paper templates based on a volume that was previously sculpted in two-component plastic foam. Therefore we learn to use inputs and tools that allow us to train the mind to be able to visualize and design.
During the workshop, a very conducive environment for working together was created. The creation of a template for each participant was specified in a precise and objective way. To finally do joint work to assemble and decorate the models on a larger scale.
By creating paper templates through this method, we take the creative out of the digital environment, inviting them to develop functional shapes and volumes in an analogous way. In this way, the aim is to enrich the creative processes of future professionals.
