From Glass to Resin: The Tiny World of Collectible Miniatures
There is something irresistible about small things: they fit into a corner of your desk, seem to hold a world of their own, and whenever a new one appears, there is always room for one more.
From glass to tiny treasures
Glass animal figurines have been part of collecting for generations. Some stand out for their craftsmanship, colour and delicate material; others become conversation pieces that people seek out, gather and display. In this world, small has never meant insignificant.
Over time, the love of miniatures has found new materials and styles. Today, alongside classic figures, there are resin toys: small resin figures inspired by toys, illustration and collectible design. Within the art toy scene, resin can be used to create figures with personality, detail and very different finishes.
Resin toys: collecting without needing a huge display cabinet
Resin pieces vary widely in price and scale, but tiny miniatures offer an easy way to begin: they take up little space, can be grouped by theme or colour, and let you build a collection one piece at a time. You do not need to start with a museum-worthy object; you just need to find a creature that makes you smile.
At Proyecto Ensamble, we have gathered tiny resin critters measuring around 1.5 cm, some with a glow-in-the-dark effect. They are miniatures for your desk, to keep company with favourite objects, or to collect little by little. They may be tiny, but they have presence.
